Welcome to FixWiz (Pty) Ltd (“FixWiz”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing https://fixwiz.co.za (the “Site”) or booking any FixWiz service (the “Services”), you (“you”, “the Customer”) agree to the terms set out below. If you do not accept these Terms, please do not use the Site or the Services.

1. Definitions

  • Job – the specific task(s) you request in a booking.

  • BookingPress – the online booking tool embedded in our Site.

  • PayFast – the third-party payment gateway we use for secure card/EFT processing.

  • Call-out Fee – the fixed amount payable for a Technician to attend your premises.

2. Eligibility & Account

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a legally binding contract. To speed up future bookings you may create an account; you are responsible for safeguarding its login credentials.

3. Scope of Services

FixWiz enables you to:

  1. request quotes or instant pricing for plumbing, electrical, roof/gutter, cleaning, security-hardware and general handyman work;

  2. book a suitable Technician;

  3. pay securely online; and

  4. track, review and archive Job details.

We supply labour and (where applicable) parts/materials required for the Job. Large-value parts (e.g., geysers, locks, breakers) are charged at retail cost plus any agreed mark-up, disclosed before purchase.

FixWiz does not offer major construction, structural, asbestos, gas-line or high-risk electrical works requiring an ECSA Registered Person—these are referred to specialist partners.

4. Booking Process

  1. Request – complete the BookingPress form or WhatsApp us.

  2. Quote & Acceptance – you receive a price (fixed or estimated) plus the Call-out Fee. Accepting the quote forms a binding agreement.

  3. Payment – secure the Job with PayFast or an approved alternative. For estimates, a Call-out Fee deposit is due upfront.

  4. Dispatch – we assign the nearest available Technician and send you an ETA.

  5. Job Completion – you inspect and sign off; any balance is auto-captured via PayFast.

5. Pricing & Payment

  • Transparent Rates: All fees appear prior to checkout; VAT is included unless stated.

  • Payment Methods: major cards, instant EFT, SnapScan (via PayFast) or cash by prior arrangement.

  • Failed Payment: Jobs remain provisional until payment clears; declined transactions may forfeit your time slot.

  • Non-payment: We reserve the right to withhold CoCs/certificates and to recover costs (plus interest at prime + 2 %) through legal channels.

6. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • By You:
    • More than 3 hours before the slot – free.
    • Less than 3 hours – Call-out Fee retained.
    • Technician en-route/onsite – 100 % of Call-out + 30 % of labour estimate.

  • By FixWiz: We may reschedule for weather, safety or force-majeure reasons. If we cancel outright, you receive a full refund.

7. Customer Obligations

  1. Provide accurate contact, service-address and Job details.

  2. Ensure safe, unobstructed access to the Job site; secure pets and valuables.

  3. Obtain any body-corporate or landlord consent where required.

  4. Settle invoices promptly.

Failure to meet these duties may trigger additional charges or rescheduling.

8. Technician Standards

Technicians agree to:

  • arrive within the scheduled window (or notify you of delays);

  • perform work with due skill, care and clean-up;

  • comply with applicable South-African law, SANS codes and municipal by-laws; and

  • carry basic public-liability cover (minimum R1 million).

9. Workmanship Guarantee

We guarantee labour for 30 days from Job completion. If a fault reappears within that period and relates to our workmanship, we will repair it at no extra cost. Parts are warrantied per manufacturer terms.

The guarantee excludes: misuse, third-party tampering, force-majeure damage, or indicated ‘temporary’ fixes.

10. Reviews & User Content

You may post ratings, comments, photos or videos (“User Content”). By doing so you grant FixWiz a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and promote that content. You must not upload defamatory, obscene or infringing material; we may remove it and suspend accounts.

12. Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Using the Site signifies that you have read and accepted that policy.

13. Disclaimers

  1. Services are provided “as available”. We do not warrant uninterrupted access.

  2. Estimates are subject to onsite inspection; hidden issues may alter final pricing.

  3. Except as expressly stated, FixWiz disclaims all warranties, statutory or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent allowed under South-African law, FixWiz’s total liability (contract, delict or otherwise) for any single event or series of related events shall not exceed the greater of (a) R5 000 or (b) the amount you paid for the Job giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages (loss of profit, data, or goodwill).

15. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold FixWiz, its directors, employees and agents harmless from any claims, damages or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, unlawful acts or misuse of the Services.

16. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control, including load-shedding, network outages, strikes, extreme weather, pandemics or acts of God.

17. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute not resolved amicably within 30 days may be referred to:

  1. Small-Claims Court (if eligible), or

  2. Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA) under its expedited rules.

The seat of arbitration will be Cape Town; proceedings will be in English. Either party may seek urgent injunctive relief in the Western Cape High Court.

18. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on the Site with a new “Last updated” date and will take effect immediately for new users and after 7 days for existing users.
